The New Age of Faxing

Fax Machines are one of the primary ways of sending an important document to an office nearly instantaneously. Unlike snail mail, where you have to wait for the postman to deliver the document, a fax machine sends it instantly over the phone lines. Traditionally, two people with a fax machine in different locations could send a document by digitizing the scanned image and sending it over the phone lines. The fax machine on the other line could then take that digital image and make a printout of it.

Online Fax Systems
Fax Machines don't have to be limited to the phone lines. The traditional setup can sometimes be annoying because the fax is using a dial up connection. Dial up and phone lines can be susceptible to noise which can cause errors in the fax. Modern fax machines can be setup to use your existing broadband connection. This online fax system allows you to send documents quicker, since you don't have to wait for the dial up connection to handshake and send stuff over a 33.6kbps connection.

Email Fax Documents
Using your email to send an email fax is another method for sending documents to a recipient. You can send your document in the form of a PDF or word document to an email address by attachment. That email can then be opened and edited or printed as needed. You can also email a fax server which will then use its dialup modem and actually send the document to another traditional fax machine which uses a dial up connection.

Faxing Over the Internet
People can fax stuff over the internet which is the preferred method for people who send only a few faxes here and there. An internet fax can also be the preferred method for people who don't like wasting paper and want to save the environment. With an internet fax, you upload your document to the website and type in the fax number you wish to send the fax across too. Its really simple.

Final Fax
While fax machines are decreasing due to the Internet becoming more widespread, you will likely find a fax machine in most businesses. When it comes to the law, a signature electronically sent over the internet is not so much recognized as a real one or a signature sent via fax machine.
