You can also email a fax server which will then use its dialup modem and actually send the document to another traditional fax machine which uses a dial up connection.

People can fax stuff over the internet which is the preferred method for people who send only a few faxes here and there. An internet fax can also be the preferred method for people who don't like wasting paper and want to save the environment. With an internet fax, you upload your document to the website and type in the fax number you wish to send the fax across too. Its really simple.

While fax machines are decreasing due to the Internet becoming more widespread, you will likely find a fax machine in most businesses. When it comes to the law, a signature electronically sent over the internet is not so much recognized as a real one or a signature sent via fax machine.
